Archer’s Early Firepower Not Enough
Archer impressed early, consistently clocking over 150 kmph and troubling GT’s top order. But once Sudharsan and Buttler steadied the ship, the momentum shifted. Sudharsan brought up his third fifty of the season in just 32 balls and laid the platform for a big finish.

In reply, RR got off to a rocky start with both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana falling inside three overs. Mohammad Siraj and Arshad Khan made early inroads, and the Royals were reduced to 12/2.
A short-lived counterattack from Sanju Samson (41 off 28) and Riyan Parag (26 off 14) offered some hope, but regular wickets kept pegging the visitors back. Shimron Hetmyer stood tall with a fighting 52 off 32, but it was too little, too late.
GT’s bowling unit was superb once again. Prasidh Krishna led the way with a sharp 3/24, supported by Rashid Khan’s 2/37 and tight spells from the rest of the attack.
